Please don’t tar us with the same dirty brush.
You might have seen the Quickie Divorce expose in yesterday’s Daily Express. If you didn’t, a lady contacted Quickie Divorce about their £67 offer and was upsold a £347 package that doesn’t appear on their website. The next morning she changed her mind, but Quickie Divorce refused to refund her, at which point she asked the Daily Express for help.
When the Express asked Quickie Divorce for a refund, they said they could only discuss the matter if the applicant gave her permission. They got her permission, but Quickie Divorce did not respond. The lady in question eventually only got her refund because she used the chargeback option through her debit card.
This kind of behaviour infuriates me. It creates distrust as customers naturally assume that we are all cowboys when online divorce provides a low-cost alternative to the exorbitant prices of the high street solicitor. Most online companies are reputable, but some are not. So how do you separate the good from the bad and the downright ugly? Read on…
Are their adverts honest?
All businesses need customers to survive, and the way that a business attracts customers is a good indication of the type of company they are. The fact is all divorces in England and Wales incur a £593 court fee unless you are on a low income. So any advert that says ‘Cheap Divorce £37 – No Court Fees’ is misleading.
Do they use scare tactics to sell you to a product that doesn’t even feature on their website?
Divorce is often a challenging and emotional time. People can be vulnerable. If a company tries to sell you something that is 10 x more expensive than shown on their website, especially if they are using scare tactics – that’s a red flag. If you find yourself in that situation, tell them you need to think about it, and you’ll call them back. Don’t feel pressured into it.
Do you trust them?
I’m a big believer in gut instinct. I think that most people can sense if something is not right. Speak to someone at the company, get a feel for them. Do they ‘get’ you? Are they listening to your situation and offering a solution specifically for you, or are they more interested in ramming their service down your throat?
It’s hard to overstate the positive impact the internet has had on the world, but like anything, there is always a small negative minority. Over the last 20 years, the internet has helped save millions of British people from wasting an unnecessary amount of money on high street divorce solicitors.
Online divorce providers like Easy Online Divorce offer a low-cost, fast divorce solution. However, it doesn’t work for everyone. If you have a high conflict situation where you can’t agree on your divorce and need to go to court, you will need a barrister’s legal expertise. But most separating couples who agree to divorce don’t need to throw money away on solicitors.
Easy Online Divorce was created to help reduce the emotional and financial cost of divorce. We offer fixed price transparent services with a success guarantee. I believe we provide the best and fastest divorce solution in England. But don’t just take my word for it:
After suffering years of torment and anxiety, mulling every possible scenario in my head, on recommendation, I gave easyonlinedivorce a call. They were extremely professional, helpful, and put my mind at ease with their knowledge and expertise in the divorce process plus financials. No question was too silly. I wish I’d made this call three or four years ago. I can now rest assured that my anxieties can at last rest. Thank you!!!
